Wii Power Supply built in Protection

Well the kids wanted to play some Wii tonight. Pressed the power button with no response from the system. Dead Wii flashed through my head. The kids would have to suffer playing some PS3 for the time being..lol. A quick test of the power supply with the multimeter showed zero volts. Quick search on the google machine brought me some results quickly. Apparently those fellers who designed the PS added a built in surge protection. We did have a power outage last weekend according to the microwave and alarm clocks when I got home on Sunday. Funny thing is that the Wii ps was plugged in to a surge protector behind my entertainment center and it wasn’t tripped. Strange..I know. Well the fix was to simply unplug the wii ps from the AC outlet for a few minutes and this allows it to reset itself. Now the kiddos are enjoying some Wii Sports games. I thought I would share for those fellow Wiificianados.
